The Chicago Bears have officially signed two of their remaining 2025 draft selections, inching closer to a fully signed rookie class. Safety Dillon Thieneman and offensive lineman Logan Jones both put pen to paper on their rookie contracts this week, leaving the team with just one unsigned draft pick.
Thieneman, a ball-hawking safety out of Purdue, was selected in the fourth round. He brings a reputation for instincts and playmaking ability to a secondary that is looking to add depth. Jones, a versatile interior lineman from Iowa, was taken in the fifth round and is expected to compete for a backup role on the offensive line.
With these two signings, the Bears have now locked up four of their five draft selections. The only player still without a contract is their first-round pick, wide receiver Rome Odunze. While rookie deals are largely formulaic under the current collective bargaining agreement, negotiations on offset language and guaranteed money can sometimes cause minor delays. Odunze is expected to sign in the coming days and be on the field with the rest of the rookies for training camp. The team is counting on him to be a primary target for quarterback Caleb Williams right away.
