Keaton Wagler Keeps Head Up After Rough Clippers Preseason Start

Keaton Wagler did not get the debut he hoped for with the Los Angeles Clippers, but the rookie guard is not letting one difficult night shake his confidence.

Wagler struggled to find his rhythm in his first preseason action, missing most of his shot attempts and turning the ball over several times as he adjusted to the speed and physicality of the professional game. The offense stalled when he was on the floor, and defensive rotations gave him trouble early.

Still, Wagler met reporters after the game with a steady tone. He said the experience was valuable and pointed to the pace of play as the biggest adjustment so far. He added that preseason games are meant for learning, and he plans to study film to correct his mistakes.

Teammates and coaches have praised his work ethic in training camp. The Clippers view the preseason as a chance to evaluate young players, and Wagler expects to get more opportunities to prove himself before the regular season begins.
