Sabonis Addresses Kings Trade Rumors Head On

October 3, 2026 - 18:21

Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis has spoken publicly about the trade speculation that has followed him through the offseason, and his message was direct.

Sabonis made it clear he is not focused on the noise surrounding his future with the organization. According to his comments, his attention remains on preparing for the coming season and helping the team compete in a crowded Western Conference. He described the rumors as part of the business of basketball, something players learn to tune out once they step on the floor.

The big man has been a central piece for Sacramento since arriving, anchoring the offense with his passing and rebounding. His production has kept him among the league's most consistent interior players, which is exactly why his name keeps surfacing in hypothetical deals. Still, Sabonis did not sound like someone looking for an exit. He spoke about his comfort with the city and the relationships he has built inside the locker room.

For a franchise trying to stay relevant in the playoff race, stability matters. Sabonis saying he is committed to the work in front of him gives the Kings one less distraction as training camp approaches. Whether the front office shares that patience is another question, but the player himself has answered the only part he controls.
