Wizards Struggle at Home in 112-102 Loss to Raptors

October 24, 2026 - 02:37

Trae Young and Tre Johnson combined for 42 points, but the Washington Wizards were outmatched at home against the Toronto Raptors in a 112-102 defeat. The backcourt duo kept Washington within striking distance for much of the night, yet the team could not close the gap when it mattered most.

Young controlled the pace and created opportunities for his teammates, while Johnson provided a steady scoring punch that kept the Wizards competitive through the middle stretches of the game. Despite their combined output, Washington's defense had trouble containing Toronto's balanced attack. The Raptors moved the ball well and found open looks throughout the contest, repeatedly answering Washington runs with timely baskets.

Rebounding and turnovers proved costly for the Wizards, who gave Toronto extra possessions and allowed second-chance points at key moments. The loss adds to a difficult stretch for Washington, which has struggled to string together consistent performances on both ends of the floor. Young and Johnson showed flashes of what the offense can look like when both are clicking, but the supporting cast could not provide enough production to offset Toronto's depth.

Washington will need to tighten its defense and cut down on mistakes as it looks to bounce back in its next outing. The Wizards showed effort and moments of promise, but the final score reflected the gap between the two teams on this night.
