Pastrnak Sets Franchise Mark as Bruins Rally Past Blackhawks in Overtime

David Pastrnak reached another franchise milestone as Boston erased a two-goal deficit to defeat Chicago in overtime.

The Bruins looked flat through the opening 40 minutes, trailing 2-0 after Chicago capitalized on turnovers and controlled the pace of play. Boston's breakout struggled, and the Blackhawks clogged the neutral zone effectively, limiting clean entries and forcing the Bruins into low-percentage shots from the perimeter.

The third period told a different story. Boston pushed the tempo, won more battles along the walls, and finally broke through midway through the frame. The equalizer came with the extra attacker on the ice after the Bruins pulled their goaltender, capping a sustained stretch of pressure in the offensive zone.

Overtime did not last long. Pastrnak took a feed in stride, cut toward the middle, and snapped a shot past the goaltender to seal the comeback. The goal moved him past a long-standing franchise record, adding another line to a resume that keeps growing.

Chicago left with a point but will regret letting a two-goal lead slip. The Blackhawks generated little offensively after the second period and spent much of the third chasing the puck.

Boston's bench responded well after a sluggish start, and the win keeps momentum going as the schedule tightens. Pastrnak's latest achievement will draw the headlines, but the rally itself may matter more to a team still finding its consistency.
