Los Angeles Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman made it clear that Shohei Ohtani's recent injury will not alter the team's approach ahead of the trade deadline. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Friedman emphasized that the front office remains committed to its original plan, despite the two-way star being sidelined with a right hamstring strain.

Ohtani suffered the injury during Monday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks while attempting to steal second base. The Dodgers placed him on the 10-day injured list, but initial evaluations suggest the strain is mild. Friedman noted that the team expects a relatively short recovery period, which factored into the decision to stay the course.

"We have a lot of confidence in the depth of this roster," Friedman said. "This doesn't change how we view the next few weeks. We've been preparing for various scenarios, and we'll continue to look for ways to improve the club, but we're not going to panic or overreact."
