Cliftonville have confirmed the return of Northern Ireland internationals Danielle Maxwell and Louise McDaniel, both of whom have rejoined the club after spending last season with Burnley. The duo, who were part of Cliftonville's historic treble-winning squad, will now add significant experience to the team as they look to build on their recent successes.
Maxwell and McDaniel were key figures during their previous spell at Solitude, helping the club secure a clean sweep of domestic trophies. Their move to Burnley last year saw them compete in the English women's football pyramid, but both have now opted to come back to Northern Ireland. Cliftonville manager John McGrady expressed his delight at the signings, highlighting their quality and familiarity with the club's setup. He noted that their return will strengthen the squad ahead of the new season, particularly with the experience they gained playing across the water.
The club did not disclose the length of the contracts, but confirmed that both players have already begun training with their teammates. Their arrival is expected to boost Cliftonville's ambitions in both domestic competitions and any potential European campaigns.
