CBS Sports has released its latest ranking of the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL, projecting ahead to the 2026 season. The list, which aims to forecast where signal-callers will stand in two years, places Buffalo Bills star Josh Allen in a familiar but slightly adjusted spot.
Allen comes in at number three on the list, trailing only Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals. The ranking acknowledges Allen's rare combination of arm strength, mobility, and toughness, but it also points to some lingering concerns. While Allen has consistently put up elite numbers and led the Bills to multiple deep playoff runs, the ranking suggests that his turnover-prone moments and occasional inconsistency keep him just behind the top two.
The projection notes that Allen's standing could shift depending on how the Bills retool their roster around him. With Stefon Diggs now in Houston, Allen will need to develop chemistry with a new group of receivers. If he can cut down on the risky throws and elevate his supporting cast, the ranking implies he could challenge for the top spot. For now, CBS Sports sees him as a clear top-tier quarterback, but not quite the absolute best in the league heading into 2026.
